Your First Visit

Nervous about your first Brazilian wax? We have been there. Here is everything you need to know.

What to Expect

Your First Brazilian Wax, Step by Step

We know the thought of your first Brazilian wax can feel intimidating. That is completely normal. Most of our clients were nervous before their first appointment too. Here is exactly what happens so there are no surprises.

Before you arrive

Make sure your hair is at least a quarter inch long, about 2 to 3 weeks of growth if you have been shaving. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid applying lotions or oils to the area on the day of your appointment. If you want, you can read our full pre-care guide for detailed prep instructions.

When you arrive

Your esthetician will greet you, walk you through the process, and answer any questions you have before starting. There is no rush and no judgment. This is a safe, professional space and our team does this every single day.

During the wax

You will lie down on a clean, private treatment bed. Your esthetician will use premium soft wax, applying it in small sections and removing hair quickly and efficiently. The entire Brazilian typically takes 20 to 25 minutes. Most of the discomfort happens in the first few pulls and then your body adjusts. Many clients tell us it was way more manageable than they expected.

After the wax

Your esthetician will apply a soothing product and go over aftercare instructions with you. Some redness is completely normal and usually fades within a few hours. We recommend reviewing our aftercare guide to keep your skin smooth and healthy between appointments.

The truth about pain

Yes, there is some discomfort, especially the first time. But most clients are genuinely surprised at how quick it is and how manageable the sensation feels. The second appointment is noticeably easier, and it continues to get better the more consistently you wax. Your hair grows back finer and sparser over time.

Questions

First-Timer FAQ

Does a Brazilian wax hurt the first time?

There is some discomfort, especially the first time, but most clients say it is much more manageable than they expected. Our estheticians use premium soft wax and refined technique to make it as comfortable as possible. The second visit is noticeably easier.

How long does a first Brazilian wax take?

A Brazilian wax typically takes 20 to 25 minutes. This includes time for your esthetician to explain the process and answer your questions.

What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing is best. Breathable cotton is ideal, especially for underwear and bottoms. Tight jeans or synthetic fabrics can cause irritation on freshly waxed skin.

How long does my hair need to be?

At least a quarter inch, roughly the size of a grain of rice. This is about 2 to 3 weeks of growth after your last shave. If it is a little longer, that is perfectly fine.

Is it awkward?

It is completely natural to feel nervous, but our estheticians make it their mission to put you at ease. Many clients tell us it felt like chatting with a friend. Zero judgment, always professional.

Can I get a Brazilian wax if I have never been waxed before?

Absolutely. Many of our clients start with us as complete beginners. We walk you through every step and go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Should I take a pain reliever before my wax?

If you are worried about sensitivity, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen about 30 minutes before your appointment. Also avoid caffeine on the day of your wax as it can increase sensitivity.
